Actress Victoria Pedretti says she was sexually assaulted by a “well-known” actor last year.
The 28-year-old Philadelphia native explained the awkward incident in an Instagram post, which she subsequently deleted.
“On my birthday last year, a ‘well-known’ actor came up to me at a party and said, ‘I’ve jerked you off so many times,'” said Pedretti, who plays Love Quinn on the Netflix series, Buzzfeed reported.
Pedretti said she was “shocked by the boldness” of the actor, adding, “That was AFTER he expressed how much he RESPECTED me as an actor lol.”
Posting a nude selfie along with the caption, she wrote, “Sometimes I enjoy modesty, sometimes I don’t.
The latest: Actress Victoria Pedretti, 28, says she was sexually assaulted by a “well-known” actor last year. She was pictured at an event on LA TV starL earlier this month. The actress plays the role of Love Quinn in the popular Netflix series You
“It’s a joke to think that my own modesty will protect me from any disregard I might experience as a female body. Call my body too. I love you. You belong to Me.’
A number of social media users tried to persuade Pedretti to publicly name the person involved in the incident, but she declined — for now.
“Trust me, I told that person if I ever hear anything else about him, like, then we have a problem,” Pedretti said in a subsequent post to Instagram Stories.
Pedretti said she didn’t want the actor to be fired just for the unwelcome remark.
“I can deal with it, I don’t need to ruin his career because he said something really stupid,” she said of Pedretti, who played Manson’s student Lulu in the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The actress said she initially had no intention of discussing the incident in her post.
“This post started with me wanting to post an act and then thinking about my birthday,” Pedretti said. “So the main point was the nudity.
“Especially when it’s like that, no matter what you do, people are going to say horrible things and … feel empowered to talk about women.”
Pedretti said she was “shocked by the boldness” of the actor, adding, “That was AFTER he expressed how much he RESPECTED me as an actor, lol.” In a subsequent Instagram Stories post, Pedretti said, “Confidence Tell me, I’ve told that person if I ever hear anything else about him, like, then we’ve got a problem.” Pedretti said she didn’t want the actor to be removed just for the undesirable note
It comes after Netflix announced on Friday that it had renewed You for a fifth and final season.
Penn Badgley, who asked for fewer sex scenes in season four out of respect for his wife, will return as the charming but obsessive Joe Goldberg one last time.
“Goodbye… YOU. Joe Goldberg will be returning for the fifth and final season of You,” the streaming service posted on Instagram, sharing a video of the actor.
The same video was shared on Twitter with the message: “Get ready for Joe Goldberg’s final chapter. They will return for a fifth and final season in 2024!’
The series finale will be helmed by new showrunners.
Sera Gamble, who oversaw day-to-day operations for the first four seasons, is stepping down.
Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will fill those roles on the series.
In season four of You, Badgley’s character Joe Goldberg gets a taste of his own medicine from a vengeful serial killer while trying to keep himself under a new identity.
After killing ten people over the last three seasons of You, Goldberg can’t escape his past when he attracts the attention of a killer dubbed the “Eat the Rich Killer.”
After moving to London and embarking on a new life as Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe wrestles with a renewed heartbreak, which he ominously describes as “the catalyst for a new path.”
The previous season ended with Joe killing his child’s mother Love before jetting off to Europe in search of Marienne.
The first part of the fourth season debuted on Netflix on February 9th. The second part appeared a month later on March 9th.
The thriller peaked at #1 on Netflix’s internal charts in the second half of its fourth season.
Outgoing showrunner Sera Gamble shared the same video on her social media on Friday, writing, “It’s rare and precious when a TV show is able to tell its full story as intended. It only happens with really massive support from viewers. Thank you for watching and telling your friends and supporting the show. we love you to death ❤️’
In an interview on ‘s Top 5 Podcast, Gamble revealed that the producers had an “exciting idea” for a fifth season that could be a great way to wrap up the series.
“Even in the early discussions with Penn, the idea wasn’t to produce episodes forever; we want it to feel like we’ve told the full story.
“And while I feel the same way sonically, we’re very different and we’re not trying to sell Joe as any kind of straight-faced hero,” she explained. “This is a show that’s in the tradition of those single lead shows with a guy who keeps doing worse things.
“The beauty of it is that when his arc is done, the show is done too.”
