Sara-Marie Fedele rose to fame as a young 21-year-old starring in ‘Big Brother Australia’ season one in 2001.

And on Monday, the former reality star made a rare TV appearance on Channel Seven’s show Sunrise alongside her former co-star Blair McDonough.

Sara-Marie looked very different from how fans might remember her as she revealed why she used to wear her iconic bunny ears and perform her famous butt dance.

“I used to wear the bunny ears so I didn’t have to do my hair and I did the butt dance to send a signal to my sisters to let them know I was happy,” she explained.

“And I was wearing my pajamas because we weren’t going anywhere, so I didn’t bother to get dressed. They were very simple things [made me famous].’

Sara-Marie appeared on Big Brother in 2001 and became one of the most popular contestants.

Fans of the hit series can still recognize the former reality star from her iconic bunny ears and “bum dance.”

She placed third on the show, but after getting kicked out, she found incredible success, starting her own line of nightwear, writing a book, and even releasing a pop single called “I’m So Excited (The Bum Dance).”

Sara-Marie returned to Big Brother for the celebrity edition of the series in 2002 and went on to work as a presenter on the children’s show Totally Wild.

In 2005, she appeared as a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars” and returned in 2008 as a panelist on the Big Brother spin-off show “Big Mouth.”

She also enjoyed working as a plus-size model for talent agency BGM.

Before joining Big Brother, she worked in management at a strip club.

Sara-Marie now lives a quiet life in Perth and is the proud mother of an eight year old daughter.
