College student Sule Ambrose, 25, died while starring in a reenactment of the scene of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. Viewers didn’t realize he had died, thinking it was part of the religious act.
The young man, who was studying at Clariantian University’s seminary in Nekede, southeastern Nigeria, played the role of Simon Peter, Jesus’ most important disciple, in a long white toga.

During the scene, he fell to the ground and started bleeding. According to local media, people didn’t react at first, thinking it was a reenactment of the religious scene.
A witness told local media that when they could not get up, everyone noticed that they were ill.
The student was taken to a local school hospital. The case escalated and Sule Ambrose was transferred to a federal hospital. He couldn’t resist.
Ambrose’s cause of death is still unknown, according to the seminary where he studied.
