A 22yearold claims he broke a world record by visiting 67 pubs in England in one day. Account Manager Nathan Crimp covered more than 18 miles in the adventure, which began at 11 am on September 17th.
Together with two friends, he took turns tasting drinks such as beer, liqueur and other nonalcoholic beverages. At every establishment he visited, he kept the receipt as proof of his performance. The drive ended at 4 a.m. Sunday, according to the Chron.
“I have a big thank you to Ollie and Archie for accompanying me. They were very supportive and it was just as difficult for them as it was for me,” Nathan said after completing the challenge.
The young Englishman will now claim to break the record previously held by Gareth Murphy, who visited 56 pubs in just over 10 hours, according to the Guinness World Records.
And according to Guinness, “For the purposes of this record, a pub is defined as an establishment authorized to sell alcoholic beverages on premises, although the challenger need not consume alcohol.”
However, Nathan explains that “in addition to video proof of the full trial, a log book must be signed by a staff member at each pub to confirm that a drink has been purchased and consumed”.
Crimp told the British newspaper that he was sponsored to complete his challenge and raise money for the Dogs Trust, a British animal welfare organization.
He did it in memory of his Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Kara, who fell ill with cancer in October 2020 and had to be euthanized.
