“Young Rock” is canceled by NBC after three seasons

Young Rock was canceled after three seasons on NBC.

NBC, along with Grand Crew, announced the cancellation today while a decision on American Auto’s future is pending. Separately, the single-camera workplace comedy “St. Denis Medical” starring Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Alan Grier.

The third season saw a significant drop in linear ratings compared to the previous season. According to live and daily Nielsen data, it drew about 1.4 million viewers and a rating of 0.25 in the 18-49 age group. Compare that to Season 2, which drew an average of 2.23 million viewers and a .39 rating. Season 1 was by far the most-watched season, averaging more than 3 million viewers per episode and an impressive demo rating of 0.62.

The third season started in November 2022 and ended in February with 13 episodes.

“Young Rock,” starring Dwayne Johnson, focuses on different chapters of Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong and resilient family, to surrounding the wild characters of his pro wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami, the show explores the crazy roller coaster ride that made Dwayne the man he is today and over and beyond. supernatural characters he encountered along the way.

Johnson stars alongside Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui and Matthew Willig.
