A VOIR Youve been trying to pull a giant fish

You’ve been trying to pull a giant fish out of the water for more than 18 hours… and you’re still doing it!

Fishermen from La Baie have become the craftsmen of an impromptu reality TV show as they attempt to haul a giant fish weighing more than 150 pounds out of the water live on social media since yesterday afternoon.

As of 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Mathieu Bouchard and a few associates have been waging an arduous battle to eradicate the specimen, which was hooked more than 400 feet in the waters of Saguenay Fjord.

“I hope it’s a halibut because if it’s a shark I have to put it back in the water,” he says in a video explaining that fishing for sharks is illegal.

The men in a fisherman’s hut have been at work for more than 18 hours, completely exhausted from the night’s sleep.

Last November, Mathieu Bouchard, a regular fisherman, posted a photo with a huge fish.

The story is regularly followed live on Facebook by more than 500 people, with people commenting on the fishermen’s exploits. “It’s the Fishing Olympics,” says one fan of the hobby.

The last thing I heard was that the fish was 40 meters from the ice surface and there was still a lot of work to do before it got the trophy. The aim is to tire the specimen in order to be able to bring it up and catch it in peace.

Fishermen still refuse to give their exact location. However, as they mention in their publications, Fisheries and Oceans Canada officials have been notified of their presence and are monitoring this unusual fishery.
