ATLANTA — An attorney for the defendants in the trial involving alleged members of the Young Slime Life gang was arrested Thursday morning.
Channel 2’s Michael Seiden was at the Fulton County Courthouse when Anastasios Manettas was led out in handcuffs just before the day’s trial began. Manettas is representing Miles Farley, whose jail phone calls were evidence at the trial.

Seiden spoke to Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat, who confirmed that Manettas attempted to take prescription pills to a security checkpoint. The sheriff said the attorney also threw a cell phone at one of his captains.
Manettas faces charges of duplicate pills not in their original packaging, one disability charge and one single battery charge against a police officer.

The arrest of Manettas is the latest disruption after chaos erupted in the courtroom on Wednesday.
Yesterday’s proceedings were interrupted when one of the defendants, Rodalius Ryan, was led out of the courtroom and began screaming from a holding cell. The courtroom was evacuated after two other defendants got up and started screaming.

Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat confirmed this Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne that a substantial amount of marijuana was discovered hidden on Ryan’s premises. The sheriff said the deputies removed Ryan from court because they suspected Ryan had pot on him in court and he cried out because he didn’t want to be searched.
The trial of YSL defendants has been going on for months. Officials charged 28 people, including Atlanta rapper Young Thug, in a sweeping indictment against a gang alleging that members of YSL had “terrorized” the city of Atlanta for years and committed violent crimes.
