Moreover, Ramalho would have been uncomfortable with the TV time given to Gê in a report by TV Tribuna, Globo’s broadcaster in Baixada Santista and Vale do Ribeira. The show was already scheduled for two months.

“The show has been running for two months with three bands, mine, Zé Ramalho and Zeca Baleiro. We rehearsed a lot, got ready and on Saturday afternoon, the day of the performance, we had one last rehearsal and when it was time to go to the club I called Ze Ricardo, the local producer, and asked if I could go to the club to play the sound,” Gê said. Then he got the message that he would not perform again.

“He (Zé Ricardo) told me he had a problem with the production and with Zé Ramalho. They don’t want a band opening because they don’t want to serve as a leader for anyone,” Gê said, adding:

“They also complained that I was doing a lot of TV shows. And it really was, because I’m from the city. I was surprised and I thought, ‘Hey, who am I before Zé Ramalho? I’m a fan of Zé Ramalho, I sing his songs, I admire his work”.

Gê was keen to point out that the problem arose with Zé Ramalho since Zeca Baleiro mentioned his band in the same report. The singer even tried to get Gê and his musicians to play along with him, but according to Zé Ramalho’s attitude, the Santos singer didn’t even go to the event.

“I was very upset, I didn’t even go to the show, the band people went, but I didn’t go. They told me that Zeca couldn’t do anything. He wanted us to play it back to make it up to you, but I wasn’t there. He couldn’t interfere with anything, but he treated the band people very well and was surprised by what happened,” he said.

In the comments to the posts, several netizens criticize Zé very sharply. “Who are you going to open the show for? Because these days you need a stepladder,” joked a follower of the artist. “Star Fading what a disappointment!” said another.
