Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for peace in a video message on Saturday, warning that Russia would suffer for generations from the consequences of the war.
“I want everyone to hear me now, especially in Moscow. It’s time for a meeting, time to talk,” Zelensky said, Reuters reported.
“The time has come to restore territorial integrity and justice for Ukraine. Otherwise, Russia’s losses will be such that you will need several generations to restore them, ”he added.
The Ukrainian president’s warning came amid fierce fighting between his country’s military and civilians, who took up arms to defend their land, slowing Russia’s advance.
