Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine’s sovereignty on anniversary

On July 16, 1990, the Ukrainian parliament approved a document on the independence of the country, which was still part of the Soviet Union at the time. Zelenskyi also said in his speech that Ukraine will defend its freedom regardless of Russia’s terror.

In 1991, the country declared its independence, which resulted in the collapse of the Soviet Union.
