(ANSA) – ROME, 06 APR – Ukrainian President Sergiy Nikyforov’s spokesman has recommended considering only Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statements regarding the prospects of negotiations with Russia. This is how Nikyforov commented on the opening of the Financial Times, which reported on the words of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, according to which Kiev does not rule out the start of negotiations on Crimea.
This is what Ukrainian media reported.
“This matter should be guided by the words of the President of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief,” said Zelenskyi’s spokesman. According to the English translation of Sybiha’s words to the FT, Kyiv would consider negotiations with Russia over Crimea if Ukrainian troops successfully reach the administrative border with the occupied peninsula.
Zelenskyy recently said at a joint briefing with the leaders of Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia that he would only allow peace talks with the Russian leadership if federal troops would voluntarily withdraw from all occupied territories.
