After 53-year-old Will Smith stormed onto the stage during Sunday night’s Oscars and punched comedian Chris Rock after a joke about his wife’s alopecia, Zoe lashed out at the star’s actions on social media.
Zoe, 33, took aim at Will after the attack and captioned an Instagram pic of her award dress: “Here’s my dress at the show we seem to be attacking people on stage now.”

However, Twitter was quick to remind Zoe of her own murky past, bringing up chilling comments she had previously made about the King Richard actor’s son, who is now 23, as they starred together in After Earth when he was 14 was and she was 24 years old.
When asked about Jaden during an interview with V Magazine for their June 2013 issue, Zoe said, “There were moments when I was hanging out with Jaden and I was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re 14, I need to check myself.’ ‘like what I tell you.’
“He has so much personality and so much swag, he’s so much cooler than me. And he’s so handsome, I always thought when you’re older, you know, we’re going to hang out together… No, that’s inappropriate, you’re 14.”

Online users were appalled by the inappropriate comments, branding Zoe a “hypocrite” as they suggested she was in no position to criticize the screen star.

“They want to judge Will Smith (a man who’s been a class for 30 years) for a mistake like they didn’t make it worse. Get them all.’

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is holding an emergency board meeting to discuss disciplinary action against the star for hitting Rock.

The academy, which condemned Will’s actions, said it was reviewing the episode, but the investigation is expected to take a few weeks, sources familiar with the matter said.
It comes after View host Whoopi Goldberg, who is also a member of the Academy, said she believed Smith could keep his Oscar after the controversy but he would still face some form of punishment for the onstage assault .
“There are consequences,” Whoopi said. “There are big consequences because no one agrees with what happened. Nobody, nobody, nobody.”
Speaking of which, it comes after View host Whoopi Goldberg, who is also an Academy member, said she believes Smith can keep his Oscar
Whoopi defended Smith Monday, saying “sometimes you misbehave” and she believes he “freaked out.”
If the group finds that Will has violated their standards of behavior, members can expel the actor from the organization, revoke his Oscar, or make him ineligible for future awards.
