To help you express yourself better, the Unicode Consortium has approved Emoji 15. And within months of its launch, companies like Google and Meta began bringing it to their respective platforms. And now Microsoft has joined the bandwagon by adding support for Unicode 15 emojis to Windows 11.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25300 for Dev Channel includes an early release of emojis for Unicode 15. However, the new set of emojis is currently hidden in the recently released Dev Channel Insider build, as Twitter user @PhantomOfEarth spotted. And as you may know, there is an easy way to enable hidden features in Windows 11.
Emoji 15 support is coming to Windows 11 soon! Build 25300 includes an early version of this and shows squares in the emoji selector – probably placeholders for new emojis (Emojipedia has a list: https://t.co/tYJKakeq7c)

Unlike the new ability to do tasks from the Windows 11 taskbar, Unicode’s Emoji 15 works on Windows 11 if you enable it through ViveTool. Don’t expect it to be as polished as you’d like, however, as this is an early preview. If you are running the latest version of Windows 11 Dev Channel Insider, you can follow the steps below to enable Emoji 15 on your PC.
Unicode 15 includes 21 new emojis, and if you count all skin tones, the number increases to 31. Some of the new emojis are jellyfish, ginger, hair pick, flute, etc. For the full list of new emojis, visit the Emojipedia website.
In the coming months, Microsoft is finally bringing Unicode 15 emojis to a stable Windows 11 update. The Unicode 15 standard may be available via moment updates or the Windows Web Experience Pack. If you think this is too small a feature, wait a few months and it should be available to all Windows 11 users.
If upgraded to Windows 11 Dev Channel Insider version, will you enable Emoji 15 on your PC via ViveTool? Let us know in the comments section.
