Former Grange Hill and Sweeny Todd actor Lee Whitlock has died at the age of 54, his acting agency confirmed on Monday
The British star began his career as a child actor in the early 1980s before establishing himself as a cast member on the long-running school drama Grange Hill, in which he played Bevis Loveday.
The agency Urban Collective confirmed his death in a social media post, writing: “Sorry about the passing of our client Lee Whitlock.
“Lee was a great character and actor who left a legacy of courageous and groundbreaking work done at a particularly young age.
“Lee was extremely entertaining, funny and positive to work with, my condolences to family and friends. REST IN PEACE.’

The actor is said to have passed away on Friday. A cause of death is not yet known.
Whitlock has had supporting roles in a number of successful films throughout his career, including director David Leland’s iconic 1987 drama Wish You Were Here.
He also starred alongside established Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, and played a police officer in Tim Burton’s 2007 musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
But he’s perhaps best known for his television work, with his first notable appearance on the hugely popular sitcom Shine On Harvey Moon.
