This Sunday with Huck (26) was pure emotion for actress Sheron Menezzes, 39, a special guest to join the jury of Dança dos Famosos and attend the opening of the show (TV Globo). Unable to contain her emotions, she burst into tears while speaking on television about her career and the conquest of her first protagonist.

The actress was recognized for her success on the soap opera Vai na Fé, a 7pm series on the network, in which she brings the character Sol to life. The production showed the actress a video in which Taís Araújo congratulated Menezzes on the achievement and highlighted the artist’s qualities. Lázaro Ramos’ wife also spoke about the importance of celebrating the presence of black actors on television.

“Things need to be named: Sheron is the protagonist of a soap opera. And she’s not just a protagonist, she’s the protagonist of a hit soap opera. Full of people like us. That has great value,” said Taís Araújo, which evokes strong emotions in the laureate and the audience of the program. Sheron, already emotional, couldn’t hold back her tears.

The protagonist wept as she recalled all the struggle she faced to achieve her prominent role: “I won’t say I waited for this place, I fought a lot to be in this place. I fought a lot. I’ve given it my all in these 20 years and I’m really excited to be able to show you everything I’ve built here,” she said to applause.
