OhHappy day mom! Every second Sunday in May People remember this date to honor their mothers. They usually give them a variety of gifts; Some stores even use offers to encourage their customers to make a purchase. In fact, however, Mother’s Day is a holiday that has its origins in ancient Greece. In fact, this celebration has been carried over to the modern world in much the same style as the Olympic Games. Find out how this date came to be celebrated in the following communication from La República. Likewise, we offer you the best news, poems, short sentences and pictures and more HERE.
Since when is Mother’s Day celebrated?
As mentioned above, the origin of this festival lies in the ancient Greece, when homage was paid to Rhea, mother of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Later, in 17th century England, Mother’s Sunday was celebrated, consisting of a mass at which children gave gifts to their mothers.
In contrast, the festival as we know it today dates back to 1865 and was linked to the marches held in aid of the victims of the Civil War. It was around this time that the two predecessors of the suffragettes, Julia Ward Howe and Ann Jarvis, began to convene meetings where mothers could exchange views on various topical issues. Later, when she died in 1905, her daughter Ana Jarvis decided to continue this tradition every second Sunday in May, which is why she called it that Mother’s Day.
From there, Jarvis began spreading it across the United States until then-US President Woodrow Wilson made it official in 1914.
Why is Mother’s Day celebrated every second Sunday in May in Peru?
True to the original tradition of being celebrated on the second Sunday of May, after ten years of formalization in the United States, then-Peruvian President Augusto B. Leguía promulgated Supreme Resolution No. 677 making this date official. As the Mother’s Day.

I adore my dear mother, I also adore my father; Nobody wants me in life how they know how to love me When I sleep they watch my dream; when I cry, they are both sad; when I laugh his face smiles; My laughter is the sun for them.
