The 6 predictions of the visionary Nikola Tesla that came true

One of history’s greatest visionaries and inventors, Nikola Tesla is known for his revolutionary contributions to the fields of electricity and magnetism. However, Tesla was also a prophet of technological advances and made bold predictions about the future that have incredibly come true in the 21st century. Here are six of those predictions that came true:

Check out Nikola Tesla’s 6 biggest predictions:

1. cell phone

As early as 1926, Tesla began talking about the possible emergence of “pocket technologies.” This was confirmed years later with the introduction of mobile phones.

The scientist also predicted the possibility of one day being able to connect to events and places even when we are physically distant, and still be able to send and receive information wirelessly.

2. Robots and AI

In addition to describing how future automatic cars would work, Tesla was already claiming that some vehicles would one day be able to think and make decisions for themselves.

Nowadays we can compare these concepts with the emerging artificial intelligence and robots.

3. WiFi

Coming back to Tesla’s claims about the possible reality of wireless data transmission, he came very close to the means by which this would be possible: WiFi internet.

The physicist wrote that we would eventually send and receive phone calls, music, videos, and documents without needing any kind of electronic connection.

4. Airplanes

One of his predictions was also about the possibility of traveling across the sky and being able to reach different continents in a few hours.

According to him, the technology would reach today’s commercial aircraft: flying machines that carry multiple people at high speeds without using cables or fuel.

5. Drones

As late as 1898, Tesla conducted a test of remote control of a flying machine. And at that time, many people doubted this feat, believing that there was some kind of animal in the object that it controlled.

However, the object was empty and became the forerunner of flying and remotecontrolled machines, now called drones.

6. Lasers

Ultimately, Tesla envisioned the generation of directed beams of energy that we know today as lasers. He believed these beams could be used for defense and security, a vision that has come true in the field of military technology.
