Researchers confirm that “to say there is potential for an imminent X disease event is not an exaggeration.”
After three years covidthe world now knows it is not immune to a health crisis. The fears are there, but where do we really stand given the risks? What are the Diseases which can lead to a new one Pandemic World?
“To ensure that the efforts made (…) are focused and productive”, the World Health Organization (WHO) “has prepared a list of diseases and pathogens to be selected in order of priority for research and development in public health emergencies health are ordered”. A list of diseases classified according to “their epidemic potential and/or the lack or inadequacy of countermeasures”.

But what is that mysterious disease X written on the back of the pack? The WHO states: “Disease X represents the knowledge that a epidemic A serious international disease could be caused by a pathogen whose cause is currently unknown human disease. (This document) expressly aims to enable early preparation for cross-sectoral research and development that is also relevant for an unknown disease X.
“It is no exaggeration to say that the potential for an X disease event is imminent,” said researcher Dr. Pranab Chatterjee of the Johns Hopkins Department of International Health told the National Post. Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore. “The recent wave of H5N1 bird flu cases in Cambodia is just one example.”
Zoonoses, bioterrorism, laboratory accidents, zombie viruses… the causes of these X-diseases are numerous. “WHO is working to develop R&D roadmaps for each of them.”
