“Oppenheimer” tells the story of a man who “changed the world,” says Christopher Nolan: “For better or for worse.”
A scientific revolution that forever changed the history of the world. The life of the scientist who created the first atomic bomb comes to the cinemas: “Oppenheimer”.
J. Robbert Oppenheimer brought quantum physics to the United States but became known as the “father of the atomic bomb”. He led the project that developed the weapon during World War II in a race against the Nazis.
With the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he repented and became a pacifist.
“He changed the world. For better or for worse, we live in Oppenheimer’s world and we will live forever,” says Christopher Nolan, the film’s director.
Matt Damon plays General Groves, who led the Manhattan project to make the bomb and invited Oppenheimer to run the laboratory set up in the city of Los Alamos, United States
Cillian Murphy plays Oppenheimer: “He really believed that the atomic bomb would end all wars. He believed in world government and nuclear proliferation control.”
The film is based on the book The American Prometheus. In Greek mythology, the Titan promised to steal the fire from the gods of Olympus, which he gives to mankind. And for this he will be punished and tortured for all eternity.
Oppenheimer gave us nuclear fire. But when I tried to control him, they destroyed his career. The father of the atomic bomb made the world aware of the danger of nuclear terror and was therefore prosecuted.
