Seat belts on a plane that are too short: A passenger is humiliated because she asks for an extension

A plus-size fashion influencer claims she was the victim of cyberbullying after posting a video online of herself struggling to get help to fasten her too-short seatbelt on a Delta plane.

The disgruntled TikToker, who goes by Samyra, found herself in trouble after sharing a video of her mishap with her 1.6 million followers.

The video, which quickly went viral, shows the distraught traveler asking for her seat belt to be extended, a common solution for overweight airline passengers.

“Did you see how short that belt was?” the influencer wrote in the caption of her video.

However, the traveler faced a barrage of negative comments. Some insisted the humiliating incident was “a sign” to Samyra that she needed to change.

“The strap is not the problem,” one internet user joked.

In response to this barrage of often offensive comments, Samyra quickly released a second video, this time to denounce the people who had shared crudely hostile comments.

“To anyone concerned about my health in the comments. They should also be concerned about my health and safety on the plane,” she argued.

In the original video, many people rushed to his aid.

“You look so good, you can see your energy! I don’t know why these comments are so negative, I’m sorry!”

“This woman has nothing to apologize for. She was polite and patient.”

“Why is everyone literally evil?”

“If my neighbor can order alcohol for the entire trip, I can at least get a seatbelt extender.”

This isn't the first time an influencer has attacked Delta for tight seatbelts.

Southwest Airlines recently introduced a policy that allows overweight passengers to get a second seat for free if they need space.
