If WWDC 2023 gives Vision Pro pride of place, the next edition could focus in particular on generative AI. A year and a half after the launch of ChatGPT, Apple should integrate similar technologies into much of iOS 18, macOS 15 and its applications, repeats Mark Gurman in his latest newsletter.

As he had already mentioned, the Bloomberg journalist expects Apple to introduce features such as automatic summaries and auto-completion in its operating systems and the iWork suite. Apple Music could also benefit from advances in AI to create better playlists. Most importantly, Siri would be completely overhauled, which is the least we can do.
On the developer side, a new version of Xcode would introduce an equivalent to GitHub Copilot, Microsoft's popular autocompletion tool based on GPT. Apple will certainly also provide developers with opportunities to use these new technologies in their applications. The AI push would extend to AppleCare customer service, where employees could be assisted by a new system to help users in trouble. All these innovations should be based on AI projects (MLX framework, Matryoshka and Ferret models, etc.) distilled by Apple researchers for several months.
Therefore, if the new developments promise to be numerous, “it will take at least until 2025 to fully implement Apple's entire vision regarding generative AI,” specifies Mark Gurman. Since this is a booming field in which progress is occurring at a rapid pace, it is not surprising that the development and integration of these technologies has been taking place over several years.
