Israel accuses the World Health Organization (WHO) of collusion with the radical Islamist Hamas. The UN agency is ignoring all “evidence” of the “terrorist use” of hospitals by Hamas, Israeli Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar said today at a meeting of the WHO Executive Board in Geneva.
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, the WHO has repeatedly criticized the Israeli army's military actions in the Gaza Strip, particularly attacks on hospitals.
Islamic Hamas is “hiding in hospitals and using human shields,” the Israeli ambassador said. “These are irrefutable facts that the WHO continually ignores”, he criticized. “This is not incompetence, but collusion.”
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, the WHO has pushed for the protection of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip and has repeatedly criticized Israel's bombing of hospitals, among other things. The Israeli army justifies this by saying that Hamas fighters always barricade themselves in clinics and use civilians as human shields.
