A Generation Z has developed innovative search tactics for a job on the labor market. Interviews become a true family event.
An interesting study by Intelligent, a reputable online university magazine, found that around 20% of employers observed the presence of a proud parent during a job interview for recent graduates.
It seems that the future generation is bringing not only their diplomas, but also a supportive audience because who doesn't want their parents cheering them on when it comes to achieving the achievement they long for? Work?
Intelligent magazine conducted a Pollfish survey in December 2023, surveying 800 human resources managers, directors and executives in the United States.
The results showed that 39% of employers prefer to hire more experienced candidates, thereby avoiding the need for interviews with young Generation Z members.

The attitude of Generation Z is uncomfortable
According to information from Business Insider, more than half of employers reported that young people have difficulty making eye contact in interviews.
Almost half of them were also seen appearing inappropriately dressed on such occasions.
Additionally, 50% of recruiters reported that salary expectations for graduates were significantly higher than average for entrylevel positions.
And that's not all: Even after being hired, young professionals continue to have a reputation for being challenging in the workplace.
Almost two thirds of employers believe that young graduates often cannot manage their workload efficiently.
The research concluded that at least 58% of them tend to be easily offended and unprepared for the job market.
This leads to difficulty receiving feedback and a lack of communication skills.
Highlight for young graduates during the pandemic
According to the report, renowned companies such as PWC, Deloitte and KPMG highlighted that Generation Z candidates graduating during the pandemic face the challenge of demonstrating basic communication and etiquette skills in the corporate environment.
With this in mind, these companies have implemented corrective measures and offered additional interpersonal skills courses covering topics such as proper email sending, office dress code, and teamwork.
Neithernor generation
This US study is not the only one that is shocking when it comes to Generation Z and the corporate environment.
The 2022 Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) Education found that of the 49 million young Brazilians between 15 and 29 years old across the country, 20% live outside educational and professional environments, a percentage slightly lower than which recorded in 2019, when it reached 22.4%.
This group is known as the “neither generation” and is characterized by its absence from both studies and the job market.
In the same age group (15 to 29 years old), 15.7% of young people studied and worked at the same time, 25.2% were dedicated to studying without being employed, and 39.1% were active in the labor market without being enrolled in educational institutions to be.
When asked about the main reasons for the termination School The need to enter the labor market was cited as the most important factor by these young people (40.2%), even if they cannot always find work or have never taken part in it.
Pregnancy (22.4%) and the obligation to do domestic tasks or take care of other people (10.3%) were often cited as reasons, especially by women.
