Quebec City's most beautiful postcard landscapes are highlighted in With my in-laws (French girl), a Canadian-American romantic comedy starring Zach Braff and Vanessa Hudgens as well as several well-known Quebec actors.
The trailer will be unveiled on Thursday, a month before the film's theatrical release in Canada and the United States on March 15, and will introduce the capital's tourist attractions that serve as the backdrop for this story, which revolves around a love triangle between the two Americans Acting and Évelyne turns Brochu, the French woman of the title.
Not surprisingly, from the first seconds, Château Frontenac appears bathed in light in a spectacular aerial view.
We then see the protagonists at Place Royale, where Steven Spielberg filmed a scene from the film Catch Me If You Can with Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio more than twenty years ago.
The Tourny Fountain, Parliament House and Dufferin Terrace also take pride of place in the trailer, which had been viewed more than 22,000 times on YouTube as of Friday afternoon.
“Look at this place. “400 years of history,” we hear a character say as the charm of Quebec is revealed to us.
job offer
Évelyne Brochu plays Sophie, a Quebec chef based in Brooklyn. When her lover Gordon (Braff) wants to propose to her, she receives a job offer at the Château Frontenac.
The couple settles in Quebec, where Gordon must tame his future French-speaking in-laws, played by Luc Picard, Antoine Olivier Pilon and Charlotte Aubin, among others, and negotiate with Ruby (Hudgens), an old flame of Sophie's who returns to her Scene.

Notably, the film was produced by the Quebec production company Caramel Films and was also shot in Montreal. The film celebrated its world premiere a week ago at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California.
This isn't the first time that Zach Braff has appeared opposite a Quebec actress in a film shot in Quebec. In 2010 we saw him in “The Price to Pay” with Isabelle Blais.
“A love letter”
In a statement to People magazine, directors James A. Woods and Nicolas Wright called “Chez mes-parelles” “a love letter to the place where they were born and raised, the beautiful province of Quebec.” »
The filmmakers revealed that the script is inspired by the story of their own parents, Englishmen who settled in Quebec to raise their family after falling in love with a French-Canadian woman.
“Quebec, the picturesque provincial capital, became the perfect setting for our love story: enchanting landscapes, rich history, delicious cuisine and, above all, a wonderful people who honor family and tradition. “This setting, combined with the fast-paced, self-centered culinary world, gives Chez mes-parentes-in-laws the energy of a modern fairy tale,” say the directors.
