DC Studios casts Wendell Pierce as Perry White in the Superman film

He DCEU seems to have been officially found a version of Perry White in the film Superman, which will be directed by James Gunn. The countdown to see this new Superman movie in the lead role David Corenswet has already started as James Gunn revealed that filming for the film has already begun. Previously titled Superman: Legacy, James Gunn revealed that the film will be called simply “Superman” and is still on track its release date is July 2025.

Now, DC Studios has found the actor who will breathe life into it iconic editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet in Superman. While it was believed that the cast of the Superman film was complete before filming began, that apparently wasn't true. Wendell Pierce was selected as Perry White In Superman. Currently, Neither James Gunn nor DC Studios have confirmed the cast.

Created for the series The Adventures of Superman, Perry White has been one of the most important characters in DC history associated with Superman for decades. In its origin, Perry is editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet and Clark's direct bosses, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. In this sense, Wendell Pierce becomes the fifth actor to play Perry White in a Superman film and thus joins the characters of Pierre Watkin, Jackie Cooper, Frank Langella And Laurence Fishburne in the non-DCEU timeline.
On the other hand, this has been confirmed “Superman wouldn’t be a Clark Kent origin film”, but will place the Man of Steel in his early days as a hero. They will also be his first moments as a journalist. Based on what we know about the character of Wendell PiercePerry Whyte will be one of the most influential figures in the daily life of Clark Kent. Beyond his role as a supporting actor, it remains to be seen what significance Perry White will have in the James Gunn-directed film.
It is not yet known whether there are plans to see other iconic employees of the Daily planets In Supermanas Cat Grant And Steve Lombard.
