A man was killed and five other people were injured after gunfire broke out at a train station in the Bronx on Monday afternoon.
The New York Police Department launched an investigation after shots were fired on the Uptown 4 platform at the Mount Eden Avenue station around 4:30 p.m.
The violence erupted after a fight broke out on a train and spread to the platform, police said.
An NYPD spokesman told that a 35-year-old man was killed.
Previous reports said a young girl died after being taken to a local hospital, which the spokesperson corrected.

Four northbound trains operate on the express route from 149 Street-Grand Concourse to Burnside Avenue, with four trains bypassing Mount Eden Avenue in both directions.
