A big international star is set to replace Keith Urban on The Voice Australia – and they just might be the biggest name the show has ever had

Channel Seven has confirmed that a major international musician will replace Keith Urban on the upcoming season of The Voice Australia.

Host Sonia Kruger announced Tuesday at the Seven Upfronts that a household name will join the coaching panel for the 2023 season.

While the 57-year-old gave no indication as to who will be entering next year’s competition, she did hint it will be a “big star”.

Chron Australia understands the network has approached several Grammy winners to appear on the Australian talent show.

Names such as Alicia Keys, Bebe Rexha, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera, all of whom have appeared in the US series, are among the names under consideration.

They will join Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian who are expected to return.

It comes after Keith revealed he has decided to put his family first by scaling back his work commitments.

“I don’t see it as the end of a chapter at all because I love doing the show,” he told The Sunday Telegraph earlier this month.

“I love the fact that these last two seasons happened and could happen for me because I had such a great time doing it. I feel very close to everyone on the set and I hope the door can stay open because I would jump right back.

“Similar to The Voice in America x coaches come and go depending on what their schedules are, I’d like to hope The Voice could offer me that opportunity as well.”

He said he’s trying to balance his schedule with his wife, Nicole Kidman, so they can take their kids to see their grandparents and extended family over the holidays.

Keith will begin his tour of Australia on December 1st at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
