Loreen, first in the competition in 2012, is the second artist after Johnny Logan for Ireland to win the Eurovision Song Contest twice. Finland finished second ahead of Israel.

A total of 26 countries were represented at this event.

Earlier in the evening it was Quebec’s La Zarra – representing France – who struggled in the final with her song “Obviously”.

35 years ago, a certain Celine Dion won this competition for Switzerland.

La Zarra was the sixth to take the stage. The singer appeared on a high platform from where she performed her entire performance.

Wearing a black and red sequined dress and a matching hat, the artist performed her song with confidence.

La Zarra was cheered by the crowd as she uttered the last note of her song, while the initially rather sober decoration was lit up with twinkling lights and jets of flame.

Real name Fatima-Zahra Hafdi, the young woman wore an extravagant black dress reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower and wore a sparkling fascinator.

Last year the group Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine was awarded in the finals in Turin, Italy.

Due to the war in Ukraine since the invasion of Russia a year ago, Great Britain has offered Ukraine to host this competition.
