A 66-year-old woman was crushed to death by her own car Monday afternoon in Ormstown, Montérégie. The tragedy happened around 12:45 p.m. in the driveway of the victim’s home on Route 138-A.
According to our information, the sixty-year-old had just parked her vehicle and got out while talking to a friend on the phone.

At some point, his interlocutor would have heard the victim scream before the line was cut.
It is that the woman must have seen her car pull away on its own, possibly because the handbrake was not engaged.

When trying to slow down his vehicle, the victim was caught by it and thrown under the wheels.
She was reportedly trapped under the vehicle for some time.

The victim was taken to the hospital where, unfortunately, she was pronounced dead.
Investigators and collision investigation specialists from the Sûreté du Québec were dispatched to the scene to attempt to determine the cause of the tragedy and the sequence of events leading up to the death.
