The second extraordinary session of the Ceeac Conference of Heads of State or Government was held in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where President Félix Tshisekedi exercises the pro tempore leadership of the organization.

As Mirex explained, the meeting in the neighboring country had a unique point in analyzing the internal situation in Chad in the light of the postulates of the Central Africa Peace and Security Council.

The meeting participants discussed a report on the completion of the first phase of political transition in Chad territory, presented by the head of the ECECA Commission, the Angolan Ambassador Gilberto da Piedade Veríssimo.

According to the source, the forum congratulated the Chadian people on the recent celebration of the so-called National Dialogue, Inclusive and Sovereign, aimed at normalizing the nation’s socio-economic dynamics.

He also expressed his “great concern” and collective condemnation over the events that took place in the Chadian capital N’Djamena and other cities on October 20, which caused a large number of human casualties and material damage.

The conference decided to appoint President Félix Tshisekedi as mediator in Chad’s transition process, the Angolan Foreign Ministry stressed.

In addition to the hosting President, his Congolese counterparts, Denis Sassou N’Guesso; the Central African Republic, Faustin Archange Touadera; and from Chad, General Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.

The other ECECA member states were represented at the level of Vice President, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
