Aka Akasaka (Kaguya sama) retires as a draftsman

With a tweet published on her official profile Also known as Akasaka announced his retirement as a draftsman in order to devote himself exclusively to original screenplays from now on. Akasaka is best known for Kaguya-sama: Love is War, a work he is the designer and screenwriter of which ended in Japan just a few days ago.

In his statement, the author stated that he was not satisfied with the course of Kaguya-sama’s publication over the past few years, and stressed how he felt overwhelmed by his limitations as a designer and therefore it was better to dedicate the drawing to just one to do hobbies. He also adds that there is still something to tell about Kaguya-sama and that he will find the best way to tell it.

Remember that Akasaka is the screenwriter of Oshi no Ko while the designer is Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish). An animated series is planned for Oshi no Ko, while the manga will be published in Italy by J-POPKaguya-sama is published by Star Comics and the anime is available on crispy roll.
