Andre Iguodala assists Jordan Poole, Draymond Green after the Warriors practice flap

Andre Iguodala just proved that even NBA dynasties still have cracks that veteran leaders need to mend at critical times.

One such time came on Wednesday night when news of a Draymond Green-Jordan Poole practice kerfuffle hit NBA Twitter. Both parties were quick to blame through various reports, but Iguodala – who decided two weeks ago to rejoin the Warriors for his 19th NBA season – had none of it, defending his two teammates in tweets.

In defending Poole, Iguodala was likely referring to Yahoo! Sports The report of senior NBA insider Chris Haynes that “there was an accumulation stemming from teammates noticing a change in Poole’s demeanor throughout camp while the guard was on the verge of securing a lucrative overtime.” And as soon as news of Green’s involvement broke, criticism of the Golden State’s voting leader went far and wide, as this wasn’t the first time he’d had a notable confrontation with a teammate.

The Warriors are just hoping cooler heads will prevail, even if internal discipline will follow. Any pursuit of new contracts by Poole and Green must give way to a team-wide pursuit of another NBA championship.
