Anh Do’s son Xavier Do starts his career as a model.

The 18-year-old signed up with Chadwick’s Models last month after a friend suggested he try modeling.

Xavier told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday it was “never a life goal” but he was “excited” for his new career.

“To be honest, modeling was never a life goal or anything,” he admitted.

“I was chatting with some friends one day and they said you should try modeling, you’re good at it.”

“So I did and I got in and I’m super excited,” he added.

It comes after Anh’s hit book series was banned from American schools until US students rallied to lift the ban, his agent recently revealed.

A Pennsylvania state school board ruled in November 2020 that Anh’s hit WeirDo series was “aimed at indoctrination material.”

The 17 books, which are aimed at younger children and full of belly laughs, cartoons and anecdotes from his immigrant experience, were deemed “too activist in nature” by the Central York Board of School Directors.

But Australia’s “happiest refugee” was unaware of the ban, his agent Andrew Laing told The Australian, until the ban was lifted in January following a student protest for its reinstatement.

‘It is wonderful. Just unbelievable. Good for the kids who fainted,” Mr. Laing said.

Anh arrived in Australia on a boat from Vietnam when he was three and has steadily worked his way into the limelight through his creative talents as a painter – he is a four-time Archibald Prize finalist, comedian, author and TV presenter.
