The husband of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Paul Pelosi, 82, underwent surgery after he was attacked with a hammer by a stranger on Friday the 28th. This Saturday the 29th, The Guardian reported that Pelosi, admitted to hospital with a fractured skull, is doing well and recovering.

Yesterday, Democratic congressman spokesman Drew Hammill said the couple suffered the attack by David DePape at their home in California. The attacker came in through the back door and yelled, “Where’s Nancy?”. The head of the chamber was not at the home at the time of the attack and the suspect was arrested. “The suspect pulled the hammer away from Pelosi and brutally attacked him. Our officers immediately approached the suspect, disarmed him and arrested him,” said Bill Scott, chief of the San Francisco Police Department.
