Arrest in Belgrade: Kosovar Serb Radoičić is said to have attacked…

Radoičić claimed responsibility for the commando squad’s attack on Kosovo police in Banjska. He was given a 48-hour pre-trial detention order in Belgrade.

Kosovar Serb and businessman Milan Radoičić was arrested today, Tuesday, in Belgrade. After criminal police searched his apartment and other premises, he was taken into custody for 48 hours, the Interior Ministry said.

The former vice-president of the Serbian List, loyal to Belgrade, the main party of the Kosovar Serbs, accepted on Friday sole responsibility for the attack by a group of Serbian commandos on the Kosovo police in Banjska, near Mitrovica, on 24 of September. A police officer and three attackers were killed in fighting that lasted several hours. Kosovo authorities later accused Belgrade of being behind the attack.

As TV channel N1 reported in the afternoon, it is not yet known what specific crimes Radoicic is accused of. He was interrogated for four hours in Belgrade on Saturday.

President Aleksandar Vučić told CNN on Monday night that Belgrade would initiate proceedings against all those involved in the armed attack who are in Serbia. (APA)
