Australian celebrities criticized for taking their young children to Taylor Swift concerts: 'So many fans missed out'

Taylor Swift's Sydney concerts were a true star-spotting spectacle.

Stars such as Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Rebel Wilson and Toni Collette were spotted among the crowd at the Accor Stadium this weekend.

But the presence of famous faces and their children has angered some Taylor Swift fans.

Radio host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli, radio star Fifi Box and former The Project star Carrie Bickmore all shared pictures of their young children falling asleep in their arms during the three-hour monster concert, much to the fury of Swifties.

Many were upset that the tickets went to celebrities' young children, who couldn't enjoy the entire show while fans missed out.

“Cute but all these little kids with tickets and falling asleep is killing me!” one person wrote on Facebook.

“It's also the hardest concert in the world to get tickets and soooo many fans miss it so the kids can sleep through it. I bet if it was an event with over 12s there would be a lot more fans.”

“I agree with you, there were people with tired children giving away their tickets for the second half of the concert as we sat outside and listened. “Loving and kind people, they epitomize the life of a Swiftie,” said another.

“There were four of us next to each other for half the show in Melbourne and we slept soundly. “Take them home and put them to bed if they are unable to do so,” they added.

“Literally the reason kids under 10 shouldn't be taken to concerts.” “I really think there should be an age limit on shows when they're so sold out,” said another.

“Many people would have paid double to attend or would have been happy to attend, but so many families leave the event halfway with tired and emotional children,” agreed another.

Others disagreed, with one person saying: “If the parents pay, the kids deserve to be there.” Most end up falling asleep having enjoyed everything beforehand. Don't you like it? “Try harder to get a ticket next time.”

“The number of people who think having children in attendance falling asleep is a waste of a ticket is beyond me. “It’s still an experience of a lifetime for her,” said another.

“They will forever remember attending this concert with their mom/dad/friends… just because they are little and fall asleep doesn't mean it's wasteful.”
