Australian comedians shock Prince Harry with brutal joke about ‘Royal for Hire’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embarked on several progressive ventures since leaving the UK and moving to California two years ago.

And Prince Harry’s latest venture, sustainable travel company Travalyst, was royally gored on Monday’s episode of Have You Been Paying Attention?

The group of comedians made a series of scathing jokes about a recent commercial for Travalyst starring Harry that aired on New Zealand television last week.

Quiz master Tom Gleisner asked the judges: “Prince Harry is in a new ad. What is he promoting?’

Ed Kavalee was the first to hit the buzzer with a brutal barb about Harry using his royal connections to make money in America.

“I think it’s an eBay sale of Philips stuff?” he said, referring to Harry’s grandfather Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 at the age of 99.

Kitty Flanagan then made a risqué joke about the long-standing – and false – rumors surrounding Harry’s paternity.

“Is it an Ancestry.com DNA test?” She asked.

But it was Anne Edmonds who provided the correct answer, saying that Harry was actually promoting his eco-friendly travel business.

The spot, which also starred Kiwi actors Dave Fane and Rena Owen, promoted the first initiative launched in New Zealand for Harry’s non-profit organization Travalyst.

Founded in 2019, Travalyst is an eco-travel project that evaluates vacationers, not vacations, based on how sustainable they are.

New Zealanders now have access to a ratings tool on the Travalyst website as part of a pilot initiative encouraging travelers to consider sustainable options when planning their next trip.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Harry’s paternity has been mentioned in Have You Been Paying Attention?

Last July, Ed made a joke about Princess Diana’s lover James Hewitt being the prince’s biological father – a claim that has been categorically refuted.

Showing the judges a photo of Harry with a mysterious companion whose face was blurred, Tom asked: “Two famous redheads met this week. Who is Prince Harry here with?”

‘His real father?’ Ed replied, leading to a disapproving look from the host.

Former cavalry officer Hewitt, 64, has long denied false rumors he is Prince Harry’s biological father, with whom he shares similar physical traits, including red hair.

The paternity rumors are, of course, false as Hewitt didn’t meet Diana until two years after Harry’s birth.

In a 2017 interview with Seven’s Sunday Night, he was directly asked by host Melissa Doyle if he, not Prince Charles, was Harry’s “real father”.
