Terrible tragedy in Belgium. At least two people were killed and 11 others injured when a vehicle went off the road during the Condroz rally in the town of Moha, southeast of Brussels, on Sunday.
“For reasons that are still unclear, the car left the roadway and crashed into a parapet before resting on its side. The vehicle struck a group of spectators who were in an area closed to the public,” organizers said in a press release reported by L’Equipe.
The victims would have been asked to change places
Among the injured are the driver and passenger of the affected car, Emeric Rary and Fabrice Henry. This emerges from a source from the Belga agency quoted by RTL. the two deceased would be 16 and 18 years old.
A judicial investigation will make it possible to know exactly the circumstances of the accident. “The commissioners asked them to move several times, but they didn’t move. At one point, a racing car drove straight ahead, right on top of them,” a witness told RTL.
Immediately after this tragedy, the event was neutralized and the last special trip was canceled. The award ceremony was also canceled.
