Block producers have removed the cameo scenes of “bad guys” Tanya and Vito Guccione from this season’s show following their “cheating scandal.”

Tanya and Vito Guccione were reportedly supposed to have a cameo in this year’s season of The Block, but were cut out at the eleventh hour.

Along with Mitch Edwards and Mark Mckie, the Gucciones were invited onto the show to give this year’s contestants feedback on their completed rooms, but the scenes were never aired.

While Mitch and Mark’s scenes aired, any footage involving Tanya and Vito was left on the cutting room floor.

“This year’s teams are so headstrong and they didn’t like the fact that Tanya and Vito – two people who cheated last year – put their two cents in their work,” a source told New Idea.

Tanya and Vito quickly became public enemy number one in Australia after Tanya admitted taking a picture of production schedules, which ended up giving them a rather unfair advantage.

Tanya had steadfastly denied the claims throughout the season and waited to confess to the deception in the show’s final episode.

According to the insider, “everybody made it clear to the producers afterwards that they weren’t happy they were there.”

It is understood that Tanya and Vito were not told their scenes would not be aired.

Elsewhere, an intense argument between foreman Keith and Ankur Dogra and Sharon Johal also had to be scrapped.

The source on set claimed the argument was so explosive that only a fraction of it could be included in the family-friendly primetime slot.

“There’s screaming, screaming, swearing – whatever,” the insider revealed.

The block continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
