His ex-wife Demi Moore posted an update on the 67-year-old icon’s condition on her Instagram account on Thursday.
“Bruce’s condition has improved,” she wrote. He now suffers from frontotemporal dementia.
Another statement signed by all family members was posted on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website.
“We wanted to share our gratitude for the love, support and all the stories the public has sent us since Bruce was first diagnosed,” the statement said.
According to the Alzheimer Society, frontotemporal degenerations encompass several rare brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal regions of the brain. These regions are generally associated with personality and behavior.
