Julio E. Sanchez Vanegas, He died on January 26 at the age of 93 and was a pioneer of Colombian television in many of its formats, including entertainment. From Producciones JES he broadcast for Colombian competitions such as Miss Universe and the Oscars.
He also hosted game shows such as the historical Concéntrese and music events such as Espectaculares JES. There he opened his space for both established and emerging artists to showcase their talent, at a time when there was no social media and all promotion was done by attending television shows and radio stations.
After the news of his death, one of those artists who, at the beginning of his career, was grateful for the opportunity to present his music to Colombians through the spaces of Julio E. Sánchez Vanegas, wanted to express his gratitude for this first impulse.

“It is with great regret that I receive the news of the departure of Julio Sánchez Vanegas, a great media player in Colombia. I will always be grateful for the unconditional support he gave me in his musical program, even when no one knew me, I will never forget that. Rest in peace, Julio. My sincerest condolences go out to his entire family.”
