China is testing the world’s first four engine transport drone

China on Tuesday successfully completed flight tests of the Scorpion D, the world’s first four-engine transport drone developed by Tengdun Science and Technology.

According to the local portal guanchaChina’s new four-engine fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle, will be the world pioneer of long-duration drones.

Its maximum limit is 9.5 kilometers, it maintains a cruising speed of over 300 km/h and the flight duration is 35 hours.

Designed for “support” missions, the device has a wingspan of 20 meters, is 10.5 meters long and 3.1 meters high

It has a maximum takeoff weight of 4.35 tons and a maximum payload of 1.5 tons. The configuration of the four engines and generators allows the Scorpion D Twin-Tail to have a larger cargo space (5 cubic meters).

After its successful maiden flight at Zigong Fengming Airport in Sichuan province, the Scorpion D is expected to be quickly transferred to Zhuhai, where it will make its debut at the 14th China Air Show, which opens on November 8.
