It's over for Dave Morissette at the head of the morning show on Rythme FM 105.7. The station issued a press release Monday stating that the former hockey player and Julie Houle would be giving up their spots for the next few mornings.

It was an adventure slightly outside of Morissette's routine, who was used to hosting Canadiens postgames on TVA Sports (which aired late in the evening). This time he had to get up very early almost every morning for this challenge.

Let's just say that a little break from this project probably won't hurt.

The two former hosts will be replaced by a trio consisting of Patrick Marsolais, Anaïs Favron and Marjorie Vallée from January 15th.

So this isn't the end for Morissette, who should return as a columnist from time to time. We're not talking about retirement here.

Except that all of this may not have been the person concerned's decision. According to a Dans Les Coulisses source, Dave Morissette was fired from his position because the station was losing market share every week.

Morissette had also asked his bosses at TVA Sports to reduce his working hours before moving to Rythme FM, which was increasingly less featured on the network's programming.

But as usual, we don't expect Dave Morissette's adventure to end there, quite the opposite. He always seems to have new projects or ideas in mind.
