Detroit Lions 2023 Victory Loss Prediction – Pride Of Detroit

This weekend, the Detroit Lions opened their Rookie Minicamp, which is one of the first steps toward real work on the field and a clear sign that football is upon us. Okay… three months are coming up.

But by now we essentially have a pretty good idea of what their depth chart will look like for the 2023 season and can provide a fairly accurate estimate of their 53-man roster. The Lions could make roster changes here and there, but what you see is probably what you’ll get for next season.

Additionally, this week we received the Lions’ 2023 game schedule, giving us the order and time of the opponents we already knew the Lions would face.

Is it way too early to make predictions for the season? Of course it is. But at the same time, we have the most important information we really need to form a reasonably informed opinion.

Earlier this week, me and Erik Schlitt made our game-by-game predictions. We also saw what the Vegas odds makers were thinking and gave their opening odds for all 17 Lions games in the 2023 schedule.

Now it’s time to assess the fandom. Optimism has run high in Detroit since the midseason turnaround last season. Belief in this team only grew after a popular free-agency stint, and while the 2023 NFL draft certainly produced some polarizing opinions, there still seems to be an excess of optimism in Detroit.

Let’s see how that looks on paper.

What do you think the Lions’ balance sheet will be in 2023? Vote in the poll below, then scroll down to the comments section to explain your decision.
