Drake has once again shown great generosity to lovers of his music, this time by offering one of his admirers to pay off the $160,000 debt he inherited after his mother's death.
The Toronto rapper took a lot of pressure off a concertgoer's shoulders when he performed in Kansas City last Saturday as part of his It's All A Blur – Big As the What? tour. In a moment of calm, the audience member in question, who was near the stage, managed to give Drake a note explaining that his mother had died and that he still had $160,000 to pay on the mortgage of his house.
“Your mother died and you have to pay… oh, that's a big sum,” the One Dance singer was surprised when she read the note. “You know what, I’m going to pay off your mother’s house,” he then said.
Drake isn't experiencing his first outburst of generosity during this current tour. In February, the Canadian star donated $100,000 during a concert to one of his followers who had just finished chemotherapy, and a few days later he also donated $50,000 to a viewer who had just won his battle with cancer .
But during the filming of the music video for the song “God's Plan” in 2018, Drake's compassionate soul reached the most people. In total, nearly a million dollars were donated in Miami during the filming of the clip, particularly to students to help them pay their tuition, to women's shelters and youth centers, and to music schools. We could imagine that he distributed the money directly to organizations and the population.
“The budget for this video clip is $996,631.90, we spent it all on donations,” the video clip begins.
