Eleven League 1 clubs are asking FPF to take TV rights action to protect their revenues

Some national teams issued a joint statement on local tournament broadcasting rights.

A few days ago that Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) decided to suspend three meetings of date 6 of the League 1 2023. The company said it took this action because local clubs had expressed their intention not to allow 1190 Sports’ cameras to broadcast their games. Against this background 11 teams from the local tournament (Sporting CrystalBoys, Cantolao, UTC, ADT, Unión Comercio, Alianza Atlético, Vallejo, Grau, Huancayo and Garcilaso) issued a statement calling on the highest body of Peruvian football to take the necessary measures to ensure compliance with the rules.

“Having once again confirmed the wrongful refusal by some clubs to allow the production and broadcast of League 1 matches, which has prompted the FPF to postpone those games, the signatories reiterate with greater vigour, the request to the FPF (for) taking the necessary measures to ensure compliance with the rules, as failure to comply reduces the value of our competition and therefore directly impacts our future revenue,” reads the document.

“The 14 clubs have been fully briefed on the business project, the commercial strategies, the sustainability of the project, its financial backing and other details of the new audiovisual rights marketing model set up by 1190 Sports and the Trust set up by the FPF for such purposes ” they explained.
