Crush of the week: Alice Straker

Food artist Alice Straker certainly has talent — you could say she’s a breeze to create delicious portraits of treats like chocolate eclairs. Alice, 32, tells me it all started as a child when she saw a cake in a London restaurant and thought it was the most beautiful thing ever.

Food runs in the family: twin brother Thomas is a chef and may soon find himself busy as Alice’s wedding approaches. She is engaged to George Cotterell, whose mother was a maid of honor to the Duchess of York.

Emilia: This job is damn good

Actress Emilia Fox is so engrossed in her TV role as Dr. Nikki Alexander in “Silent Witness” that she wishes she were a forensic pathologist in real life.

Emilia says, “I love the way the show looks at solving crimes through the medical side of things. I wish I had done something like that with my life.”

And while the role has brought Emilia fame and fortune, she admits she also has a darker side. “I think about death a lot,” she adds.

After writing an amazing 78 books, including a series of romance novels for Mills & Boon, I wonder if Sarah Ferguson’s next project will be for the big screen?

I’m only asking because the Duchess of York’s co-writer Marguerite Kaye claims Fergie is writing with a “Netflix perspective” in mind.

Well, Fergie admits she loves a challenge, and after the success of The Crown and Harry and Meghan’s insightful documentary on Netflix, there’s certainly an appetite for another royal saga!
