However, the Ionian area of Reggio where the concert is planned is among the most suitable to host the two endangered species. To live and reproduce they need the beach, they cannot do without it because that is where they lay their eggs and has been doing so for thousands of years, even before Jovanotti invented this “great coolness”. All Italian coasts, whether sandy or rocky, are valuable areas for biodiversity. In the summer, they suffer intense anthropogenic pressure and the mega-events on the beach greatly tighten the already precarious protection of these sites, a source of serious disturbance to wildlife. Beaches and coasts represent fragile and dynamic environments and are important transition areas between land and sea. Moving thousands of cubic meters of sand, as in the case of the “Jova Beach Party”, to make the beach accessible to thousands of people, as well as destroying dunes, pioneer plants and various ecosystems is dangerous for the stability of the beach.“.

And it is even stranger that permits are issued for concerts, since today Article 9 of the Constitution no longer protects only the landscape but also the environment, biodiversity and ecosystems, and also sets limits on private economic initiative place at odds with health and Environment.
