Estonia’s biggest gun purchase ever

This type of rocket launcher was offered to Ukraine by the United States and effectively increased its fire capacity against the Russian invasion launched on February 24. Russia’s neighbor Estonia has since increased its defense spending, as have its Baltic neighbors Lithuania and Latvia, as well as Poland.

This is Estonia’s biggest gun purchase ever. Under this contract, the Estonian party will provide ammunition, as well as communications, training, logistics and lifecycle solutions, said Ramil Lipp, head of armaments department at ECDI. The missiles ordered by Tallinn, the exact number of which is not specified, are of different types and have a range of 70-300 km. They will be delivered from 2024. In November, Lithuania announced its intention to purchase eight HIMARS for $495 million.
