Etterlene DeBarge – a gospel music icon and matriarch of the famed DeBarge family – has died at the age of 88.

The mother of 10 died peacefully in her sleep Friday morning at Berkley Post-Acute in Woodland Hills, her daughter Etterlene “Bunny” DeBarge told TMZ.

According to the website, no official cause of death has been announced.

However, her insiders revealed that the music legend was ill and battling dementia.

The publication reports that her daughter Bunny shared the news with fans on social media, saying that her mother is now doing better.

Etterlene had a total of ten children, seven of whom banded together to play in the Motown supergroup DeBarge.

The group “Who's Holding Donna Now” was active for a decade from 1979 to 1989.

The group eventually disbanded following solo contracts for Bunny and El DeBarge and other factors.
